Meeting with the British Ambassador to Israel: UK Post Elections
In the midst of tumultuous times and fundamental questions regarding Israel's place in the international community, British Ambassador to Israel Simon Walters and President of the Israel-Britain Chamber of Commerce & Innovation, Adv. Anita Levin, hosted a roundtable discussion at the Ambassador's Residence. The meeting included a select group of leading Chamber members from companies such as HSBC, Teva, KPMG, Mizrahi Bank, GSK, Abulafia & Co., Virgin Atlantic, and more , as well as the participation of the Chairman of the Umbrella Organization, Danny Katrivas, and the Honorary President of the Chamber and the Umbrella Organization, Gad Propper.
Participants engaged in an open conversation about Britain under the new Labour government following the recent elections.
The discussion also focused on the relations between the two countries in general, specifically against the backdrop of the current situation in our region.
The announcement by the British Secretary of State for Business and Trade regarding the renewal of negotiations on a Free Trade Agreement between Israel and Britain is certainly an important and positive signal.
In recent days, a call for proposals was issued concerning the UK/ISRAEL Research Collaboration. This joint program between the two countries offers NIS 9 million in funding for shared scientific research in several areas, including Quantum Technologies, Food packaging, AI in drug discovery, and more.
