Ambassadors, Innovation, and the Brexit Debate
Updated: Jan 9
Dear Members and Friends,
We wish you all a fruitful and great year as we return from the holidays. Amidst the ongoing Brexit debates and discussions in the UK, IBCC President Anita Leviant participated in a gathering of business organization heads from the UK and other countries for extensive discussions on preparations and next steps.
While there are still more questions than answers, we can confidently state that business, investment, and trade are a major consideration for all political sides, and the continuity of business remains important. We urge you to join the IBCC at this crucial time, participate in the important discussions, and take part.
As we always say: IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PEOPLE!!!
Key Events: Farewell and Welcome
Farewell to David Quarrey
In May, IBCC Management and members hosted a farewell cocktail reception at the MINDSPACE lounge for the outgoing UK Ambassador to Israel, Mr. David Quarrey, who completed four intensive years of service. President Anita Leviant thanked the Ambassador for the fruitful collaboration and friendship. The Ambassador, in turn, praised the IBCC's contribution to the constant growth of bi-lateral trade and investments, even during challenging times.
Welcome to Neil Wigan
In September, the IBCC welcomed the new UK Ambassador to Israel, Mr. Neil Wigan, over breakfast and a New Year Toast. The Ambassador, who is in his second position at the UK Embassy in Israel, shared his excitement about returning and was presented with a certificate for a tree planted in the Britannia Park. The event also provided an opportunity to meet Mr. Ian Austin, MP Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Israel, who promised his full support to the two-way business between the countries.
Spotlight on Cyber and Aviation
Cyber Week - June 2019
The IBCC was proud to be a partner for the fifth time at the Annual International Cyber Week 2019, hosted at the Cyber Security Center in Tel Aviv University. The Chamber hosted a seminar on the Cyber Insurance market in cooperation with the Cyber Security Directorate of Israel. The seminar featured leading industry speakers and was considered a great success with over 200 attendees.
